Kathy Abraham Unveils Her First Book, “Pursued,” A Journey with a Message from the Heart

Kathy Abraham Releases Her First Christian Book, “Pursued,” Honoring Metropolitan Serapion’s Spiritual Guidance for Over 25 Years

Daughter of renowned Coptic musician and composer Sami Farag brings together entrepreneurship, church ministry, and Christian writing, while highlighting the Metropolitan of Los Angeles’ commitment to empowering women and nurturing their God-given talents.

In a new chapter of a remarkable journey spanning science, entrepreneurship, and church ministry, Kathy Abraham, an Egyptian-American author and daughter of renowned Coptic musician and composer Sami Farag, has released her first Christian book, “Pursued: The God Who Won’t Let You Go.” The book explores the profound message of God’s unconditional love for humanity and His unwavering pursuit of every individual, regardless of how far they may have wandered or the struggles they have encountered along the way.

Through the pages of Scripture, Abraham takes readers on a spiritual journey beginning with the creation story in the Garden of Eden, moving through pivotal moments in the history of salvation, and culminating in the Cross and Resurrection. The book reveals how God’s loving initiative has remained constant throughout generations and continues to reach people today amid life’s challenges, uncertainties, and inner struggles.

The publication reflects Abraham’s rich personal and professional background, bringing together seemingly different fields united by a common purpose: using knowledge, experience, and God-given talents to serve others.

Alongside her theological studies, Abraham has a strong background in healthcare and nutrition. She trained as a physician assistant and earned a master’s degree in nutrition. Together with her husband, she co-founded Orgain, an American health and nutrition company, contributing to its growth and development over 17 years.

Her professional experience also extends into theological education, where she previously served as executive director of a theological institution. She later expanded her commitment to Christian teaching and publishing by founding Abiding Light, an organization dedicated to producing books, Bible study materials, and spiritual resources.

Abraham also hosts “The Bible Made Real With Kathy,” a podcast that connects biblical teachings with everyday experiences, offering practical spiritual insights for contemporary life.

Driven by a commitment to the spiritual and intellectual development of women, she founded Daughters of Saint Katherine, a women’s ministry serving within the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Los Angeles. The ministry focuses on developing female leaders, strengthening biblical understanding, and helping women across generations recognize their gifts and fulfill their calling within the Church and the wider community.

Her involvement also extends to humanitarian initiatives promoting Christian unity and cooperation among churches, as well as efforts to combat human trafficking, particularly in the Middle East.

Metropolitan Serapion: A Spiritual Father Who Made a Lasting Difference:

Marking the release of her new book, Abraham expressed her deep gratitude and appreciation for His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion of Los Angeles, Southern California, and Hawaii, whom she described as a spiritual father who has guided and supported her for more than 25 years, dating back to the early years of the diocese.

She emphasized that his wisdom, love, prayers, and continuous encouragement have played a significant role in shaping her character and spiritual growth.

Through his example, she said, she has learned the importance of leading with humility, offering correction with compassion, serving with genuine love, and remaining faithful to the responsibilities and calling entrusted to each person by God.

Abraham particularly praised Metropolitan Serapion’s dedication to encouraging girls and women to take an active role in church life, recognizing their unique abilities and providing opportunities for them to develop their talents in service to both the Church and society.

She highlighted his belief in helping women embrace their God-given purpose and grow into their calling as “Daughters of the Great King.”

In her view, his guidance goes far beyond conventional encouragement. It reflects a spiritual vision that recognizes the unique mission of every individual and values the diversity of gifts, experiences, and abilities that enrich the life and ministry of the Church.

A Nine-Week Journey of Reflection and Discovering God’s Love:

To complement the book and deepen the reader’s experience, Abraham has also released a nine-week digital study guide designed to accompany Pursued.

The guide includes Scripture readings, personal reflections, and thought-provoking questions that encourage participants to explore the book’s central themes and connect them with their own experiences and everyday challenges.

Its purpose is to transform reading from a purely intellectual exercise into a meaningful spiritual journey, helping readers rediscover their relationship with God and gain a deeper understanding of grace, hope, and forgiveness beyond fear and guilt.

Abraham concluded her message by once again expressing heartfelt gratitude to Metropolitan Serapion for his enduring spiritual fatherhood, love, and support.

She reflected on her belief that God places certain people in our lives to open new horizons, help us recognize our gifts, and encourage us to grow into the purpose for which we were created.

With the publication of “Pursued,” Kathy Abraham begins a new chapter in her journey, bringing together her experiences in education, business, and Christian ministry through a book carrying a timeless spiritual and human message: God’s love does not end where human weakness begins. Instead, His love continues to seek us, embrace us, and invite us toward a new beginning.
